Motion

The moving image has captured my fascination for almost the entirety of my life, all forms of capture and manipulation — I’ve played with celluloid film, video, motion graphics, 3D vfx, and compositing — finding each and every one of them to be uniquely amazing. Here is a sampling of what I’ve worked on in previous years.

The Learning Lab

The work displayed below was created in collaboration with the incredible artists and makers of the Bok Center’s Learning Lab, during my time here. They are all owned by Harvard University and used here solely as an example of what I’ve worked on through my position at the Learning Lab. All of these are projects that I was involved with the capture, design and creation. Several of them, I was the sole cinematographer and editor.

I have been a part of the Learning Lab since 2016, starting as a Production Assistant, and gradually taking on more responsibility. It has been one of the great joys of my life, and played a significant role in honing my skills across the board. I am currently the Studio Manager.

It also isn’t uncommon for me to be have been involved in the pre-production and post-production as well. For most of these videos, I was also involved in creating the visual elements within the videos, this includes the set itself, animations, supplementary B-roll and overall visual design.

Personal Work

The Making of a Deathbed

In 2019, a close friend of mine, Lilly Dickinson, asked me to produce for an experimental, non-linear feature film. She wanted to make a film that was dominantly improvisational, that follows an independent theatre production about the director/writer’s grief-ridden experiences as a way to contend with loss. What we ended up with was a deeply emotional exploration in love and loss.

Soul of Wit

The Soul of Wit is a short film that follows a father and son that find themselves in a constant cycle of miscommunication. Never able to understand the other, while also never able to be understood, each constantly failing to invest that tiny amount of energy needed to connect with one another. Directed by me.

The Grey Veil Haunt

This is a feature that Lilly has written and just finished storyboarding for, we are currently in the process of raising money and plan to shoot in 2025.

Imposter syndrome haunts a transgender psychic as she tries to prove to herself and everyone else that she can do the impossible. The truth blurs as members of her seance circle yearn for more than just communication with the dead.

Molitva

Ilya approached me to help produce this deeply personal piece. He had choreographed and performed this performance to Molitva, a song of the Russian bardic tradition, and one dear to him and his family.

Currently in Post-Production

Marguerite

This short film was an idea Sophie had been dreaming of for a while and approached me to do the cinematography for. The story follows a young woman in the wake of losing her mother.
